Hello,
I'm Flynn. That's Bob over there, he'll introduce himself later. I won't get into a huge intro because I'm sure the majority of people who read this are people who already know me. But here's a quick rundown: I'm 25, single, and live at home with my parents. Sounds Costanza-ish, which is fine because he's an American icon, but in reality I consider myself to be pretty cool and moderately successful thus far in life. In general, my interests include all major sports (FYI, I'm a Philadelphia fan), great TV (whether it be traditional dramas, sitcoms, etc, or reality TV), and music (hip hop, rock, and 80s in particular) amongst many other things.
The point of this blog is unclear. But I think this is what it boils down to..... Bob and I engage in mindless chatter on a daily basis and have done so for almost ten years now. As insignificant and pointless as it is, I think we both love it. I'd describe our relationship as a love/hate bromance. So maybe this blog is a way of sharing that with others.
The topics of this blog will most likely vary between sports, pop culture, and little everyday-life insights and opinions. Maybe we'll touch on social or even political issues in the world today, who knows. Basically it'll be a carbon copy of what has always been our interaction with each other.
I think our goal is to eventually do a podcast. Podcasts are just cooler, and seem to be the "next big thing".
A few words on Bob real quick, just so you get an idea of the type of person we're dealing with here.....
Bob's favorite teams are the Eagles, Knicks, Twins, and Rangers (hockey). I borderline despise people who have such differing teams as their faves. At the same time, I applaud his loyalty.
Bob considers the elementary school event "Rocket Day" as one of his crowning achievements. Apparently Channel 9 covered the event and he may or may not have given an interview. Go a week without him mentioning it and you've defied probability.
Bob cried hysterically and was allowed to skip school the day following Wrestlemania 6 when Hogan lost to the Ultimate Warrior. He cried because he was such a staunch supporter of the Hulkster. I'm not sure he's ever gotten over that loss. No shame there, if you were a 7 year old in 1990 and weren't a little Hulkamaniac I don't know what the hell you were doing with your life. But what I find a bit perplexing is that he had not one shred of happiness inside him. See, for me personally, I hated to see the Hulkster lose, but a part of me was glad that the Warrior reached the apex. For Bob, it was the Hulk's way or the highway and he wanted nothing to do with Warrior. I think the point is, Bob either likes it or hates it. There's not much in between.
With that said, Bob, feel free to introduce yourself.
